Meet Our Staff: The Jacks
The Jacks are another great family here on staff. Ken serves on the Building, Grounds and Maintenance team while his wife Andrea helps provide childcare for both staff and student moms. They both work closely with interns (students who volunteer on staff the year after graduating) in each of those areas.

Where are you from originally?
Ken: Perris, CA.
Andrea: San Francisco Bay Area.
When did you join the Ethnos360 Bible Institute team?
2007
What’s your role at Ethnos360 Bible Institute?
Ken: BGM (Building, Grounds, Maintenance).
Andrea: Childcare Coordinator.
What is your favorite thing about serving at Ethnos360 Bible Institute?
Ken: I like the energy we get from the students that are here as they are soaking up the Scripture.
Andrea: It is a privilege to free up other ladies to use their gifts to serve here at EBI or overseas; I really enjoy getting the missionary newsletters of couples whose kids I used to care for when they were students.
What is something the student body might not know about you?
Ken: I used to have an earring in one ear; I got a tooth knocked out playing basketball in 12th grade; while at EBI Jackson, I coached a basketball team for seven or eight seasons and taught in a local prison ministry.
Andrea: Ken and I met in the missions training in 1999 and then served in Papua New Guinea’s Sepik region from 2003-2007. I served with Child Evangelism Fellowship and went to a different two-year Bible school before hearing about New Tribes Mission (Ethnos360).
At what point in your life were you convinced to become involved with missions?
Ken: At the end of my time in Bible school in Jackson, MI.
Andrea: As a teen, I heard about Bible-less people groups and became interested in becoming a Bible translator through a missionary on home assignment at my church, but when my family moved away we didn’t go to a church that encouraged this. So it wasn’t until I was a young adult at a different church (with a pastor that frequently encouraged people to “trust God and take a step of faith”) that I went on my first missions trip (“Interface”) and enrolled in the missionary training program now called Ethnos360 Training Center.
Where’s your favorite place to eat or thing to do here around Waukesha?
Ken: I like watching high school football games with our youngest on Friday nights.
Andrea: I like strolling with my husband along the nearby Fox River and its parks.
What pastimes do you enjoy?
Ken: I like watching college sports on TV.
Andrea: I like gardening, reading (history/biography/mystery), and spending time with my adult kids.
Do you have a “hero of the faith” that you admire, and if so, what about them is inspiring?
Ken: I admire Daniel because he still trusted God even when things seemed hopeless in the lion’s den.
Andrea: It is hard to choose! There are many women I have looked up to through the years whose names will never be written in a book. These are ladies who “bloom where they are planted”—loving the Lord, telling others about Him, loving and serving well the people in their lives. Amy Carmichael is a more famous “hero of faith” that I admire; her poetry is beautiful and thought-provoking. She served as a cross-cultural missionary in busy, public ways; but she also learned to value the quiet, unseen life required to raise the many children she rescued from temple prostitution and neglect.
Who is your favorite author or musician?
Ken: Warren Wiersbe.
Andrea: I like the singing group Selah. C.S. Lewis and Jan Karon are some of my favorite authors.
Where is your favorite place to spend time?
Ken: With the family at home or on a road trip.
Andrea: Botanical gardens or curled up with a book.
