Meet Our Staff: The Fields
Dave and Kim Field are one of the couples that have been on staff at Ethnos360 Bible Institute in Waukesha the longest. They’re coming up on sixteen years! Both of them have a huge heart for watching students say “Yes!” to God and walk through life in step with His spirit. Dave teaches many foundational classes including Bibliology, Romans, and Christian Life. Kim is on the Advancement Team. She prepares Campus Visits for prospective students and works out the logistics for school trips. If you’re on campus and haven’t connected with them yet, please do! They welcome students into their home with warm hospitality.

Where are you from originally?
Dave: Manitoba, Canada
Kim: Manaus, Brazil
When did you join the Ethnos360 Bible Institute team?
Summer of 2009
What’s your role at Ethnos360 Bible Institute?
Dave: Teacher
Kim: Campus Visit Weekend Coordinator
What is your favorite thing about serving at Ethnos360 Bible Institute?
Dave: I love seeing God work on the students’ hearts as the Bible is taught and begins to make sense to them.
Kim: I love seeing students grow strong confidence in the Word and stand on it in the middle of their storms. I love seeing them build their trust in the Lord. I love seeing them depend on the Lord, and then they watch Him be completely trustworthy. And then they trust Him again next time. It’s a beautiful thing!
What is something the student body might not know about you?
Dave: I have been in the arctic in three different countries. I’ll let you guess where!
Kim: I grew up in Brazil in a missionary boarding school as an MK. I grew up on the banks of the Amazon River, and we swam in it every day.
At what point in your life were you convinced to become involved with missions?
Dave: I was eighteen and went to PNG on Interface 1992. God had been working on my heart about missions before that, but Interface sealed the deal.
Kim: After graduating from boarding school, I chased the American dream, looking for it to fill me with happiness and give me meaning in life. I never found anything to fill the God-shaped void in my life, and it totally disappointed. What relief and peace I felt when I finally surrendered my life to the Lord, trusting that He would take care of me and all my fears! He has been far beyond faithful to me. Far deeper and wider and more beautiful than I could ever dream!
What’s your favorite place to eat or thing to do here around Waukesha?
Dave: Sobelman’s has good food.
Kim: I love the sound of wind in the pine trees, it is so very peaceful! We know where the state parks are that have the best pine forests.
What pastimes do you enjoy?
Dave: Backpacking.
Kim: Studying photography. Practicing photography. All things photography. I’m learning to trust the Lord to help me get over my fear of being in front of people and directing them in posing.
Do you have a “hero of the faith” that you admire, and if so, what about them is inspiring?
Dave: John Wycliffe and William Tyndale are inspiring to me. Both were passionate to give the English-speaking people the Bible in their own language.
Kim: My hero of faith is anyone who is a people-lover. I am always incredibly inspired when I am around humble people who clearly put the other person and their heart before their own.
Who is your favorite author or musician?
Dave: I enjoy anything written by FF Bruce or Gordon Fee. And John Schlitt is pretty awesome.
Kim: I just paid a $12 late fee at the library for 25 photography books so…
Where is your favorite place to spend time?
Dave: Anywhere where there are more trees than people!
Kim: Anywhere with my husband and four adult kids, but it’s fun to go canoeing or hiking or be in the forest or mountains or go biking or tenting or hunting and also pine trees.
