Meet Our Staff: The Jexs

Aaron and Stacy Jex recently came on staff here at Ethnos360 Bible Institute. Previously they were on the field in Papua New Guinea. They’ve already been incredible dorm parents to students! They’ve also made some helpful changes around the school in each of their departments. Aaron fills an important role in the business side of EBI and Stacy helps foster discipleship and community among the single lady students. If you’re a student and haven’t gotten to know them yet , please do!

Where are you from originally?
Aaron: Michigan
Stacy: Maine

When did you join the Ethnos360 Bible Institute team?
August 2023

What’s your role at Ethnos360 Bible Institute?
Stacy: I’m one of the deans for single ladies, under student life.
Aaron: I am transitioning to the Business Director role.

What is your favorite thing about serving at Ethnos360 Bible Institute?
Stacy: The people! There are so many amazing staff and students! It’s great to hear how GOD has worked in each of their lives!
Aaron: Discipling students. Modernizing the Finance Office, having an impact on the effectiveness of business processes.

What is something the student body might not know about you?
Stacy: I love musicals, specifically on Broadway.
Aaron: I’m a contortionist (OK, no.  No, I’m not.).  The students might not know I’m actually not scary to talk to and tend to be a bit goofy. Not like Chris Darland goofy, but maybe someday…

At what point in your life were you convinced to become involved with missions?
Stacy: I became interested in teaching overseas as a young kid, but an Interface trip to PNG in 1996 convinced us of the need to work with and support tribal missions.
Aaron: I started feeling the tug for missions as early as Junior High. In college, I went on a few mission trips which compelled me to join God’s plan to reach the unreached of the world.

What’s your favorite place to eat or thing to do here around Waukesha?
Stacy: I love all the parks and places to walk and get outside, as well as having Lake Michigan so close in Milwaukee.
Aaron: I’m a rabid Red Wing fan (it’s a hockey team in Detroit, for the noobs), so I love going to Milwaukee Generals games and watching Detroit’s minor club team (the Grand Rapids Griffins) beat up on the Admirals.

What pastimes do you enjoy?
Stacy: Walks, time at a beach, coffee dates.
Aaron: I like having students and friends over or watching sports with my siblings in the area (first time since the early 90s I’ve been able to do that!).

Do you have a “hero of the faith” that you admire, and if so, what about them is inspiring?
Stacy: My grandfather. He humbly served his wife and family, walked with the Lord, and gave freely of the resources God provided him.
Aaron:
I like Daniel – the fact that he is faithful and worships God without apology no matter what.

Who is your favorite author or musician?
Stacy: C.S. Lewis  and Anthony Doerr
Aaron:  I love John Maxwell, who writes leadership books. My go-to band is Petra, all the way.

Where is your favorite place to spend time?
Stacy: By the water, especially the ocean, but any beach where I can swim and be in the sun.
Aaron: Anywhere with my family, whether with my wife, kids, or extended family.
